I came to SOS and Soul as I was installing new management and point of sale software for my growing network of stores. The design that I was presented with met all of my criteria and was within my budget expectations. My goals for performance and reliability have well and truly been met over the last year or so. Adding a new store to the network is as simple as sending an email to SOS and the rest is done for me. Gasweld’s point of sale and accounting systems are located at Gasweld’s head office in Newcastle. Reliable and effective communications with our stores is essential Our relationship with SOS and Soul has provided us with the uptime that we demand. The effective management of the system has been a great relief to both me and my management team. This has provided us with the freedom to focus on managing our business not our IT and Communications. I know that as our stores grow in number we will need to consider if our head office is the most appropriate location for our accounting and POS systems. When this time comes I know that the transition to a hosted server in an SOS data centre will happen effectively without disruption to trading at my stores. Dear Rick, Given that it is just over three years since the installation of our Secure Online Systems Wide Area Network I thought it timely to write to you and give an update on our experiences. To say that our SOS WAN has had a major impact on our business would be a huge understatement. The positive effects have been far reaching in the way it has enabled us to work effectively irrespective of geographic location. Centralisation of time/billing systems has recently been added on to the existing Intranet and image/document repositories. Your ability to customise a solution rapidly and manage that in your hosting facility has meant that we can be nimble on our feet when it comes to a shift in our needs. I regularly note in the media the impact of viruses and other new generation Internet threats to business world wide. I checked in with our internal IT manager and asked “how we are dealing with this”, his comment “it’s ok, we’re protected by Clean Connect from SOS”. As an owner and director that made me feel very secure. On a more personal note I want to commend you and your team on the quality of service that we receive. Your actions backup the words that I have heard from your account managers, “SOS values long term relationships”. Our business growth over the coming years will be substantial. Our demands and reliance on IT related systems will grow at a greater rate over the coming years. I know that SOS will be there to assist us in making informed decisions. As you know our business designs and manufactures underground mining equipment. We supply both Australian and International markets with fully manufactured machines. We also support those machines with a comprehensive spare parts inventory. In the mining industry performance and reliability are key factors in meeting production quotas. To ensure that this happens we have to be able to action customer requests in the most time effective manner. Since moving to Secure Online Systems we have witnessed measurable improvements in the reliability and performance of our communications. Our wide area network supports high speed data transfer between our offices. My understanding is that this occurs without going over the Internet! One of the most valuable tools that you have been able to provide for us has been our Document Repository. Our design team have gained enormous efficiencies when dealing with our international customers and suppliers from this tool alone. The ability to provide a secure and controlled environment for the posting of engineering drawings has been an outstanding success. Our Internet browsing has also improved. This now comes through your Managed Firewall and Web Content filtering systems. As a Business Manager I have improved peace of mind, knowing that my team are expending their time productively and are protected from inappropriate material.
